Books give way to a place where you can live without limits....
I'm becoming more silent these days. I'm speaking less and less in public. But my eyes, god damn, my eyes see everything..
Sundown, Wake Up
By Kristina Mc Dermott
I've been feeling recluse for about a year now. I've been sleeping and reading and eating and contemplating. My friends, with the few that I had, have abandoned me for new toys, and I've been stuck in my own little world trying to get a view of the beauty in life. Instead, I stare out my bedroom window at absolutely nothing. But today was a different outlook. As I lay on my bed reading my favorite book for the 5th time already, I catch a glint of orange on my left hand. I look towards the portal to the outside world, and see a winsome sun wearing her brightest orange attire. I never usually get excited for something so small, but a part of me wanted to see it. I dash outside to the playground that sits before my house and climb it to get a better viewing of this marvelous beam. I take a seat and watch the colors dance in the sky, letting my hair bounce and twirl with the wind. I breathe in the Earth and listen to Mother Nature's natural melodies. I begin to feel grand, alive, and beautiful. This moment, this particular moment, gave me a sense of purpose. I begin to understand why we exist, and that is to feel things. We humans, were created to experience life. No worries were intended for us. We can't just sit on our asses and mope about every little god damn problem we come across. It's such a waste. We have to indulge. So, the next time you see the sun settle down, wake up.
